On Friday, February 10 members of the GTA will celebrate the annual “Drive Your Triumph Day” with lunch at Sprig Restaurant in Decatur. This day occurs annually on Sir John Black’s birthday. As managing director of Standard Motor Company, he managed two shadow factories during WWII that built aero engines for aircraft. After the war he oversaw Standard’s purchase of Triumph which was the catalyst that brought us the cars we love today. Three cheers for Sir John Black.
We will meet at Sprig at 11:30 for some tire kicking and lunch around 12:15. Afterwards we will line up the cars for a group photo. We hope to see you there!
