ORF Tour

This is a Peachtree MG Registry event.  The ORF (old retired friends) drive was started years ago by Larry Norton and Tom Nadelhoffer to offer retired PMGR members and those who could sneak in a day off an opportunity for a mid-week drive without school buses, commuters, bicyclists and the usual Saturday traffic.  The ORF's are usually held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.  They meet for breakfast and then take off for a spirited drive ending at a nice spot to take in lunch.  Tom and Larry have been kind enough to offer this driving opportunity to GTA members.  RSVP's are mandatory.  

The ORF on Wednesday July 19, 2023 will be to Blue Ridge, GA. The route up is approximately 75 miles with a 2 hour driving time on some twisty and curvy roads.

We will be departing from the IHOP in Dawsonville GA, taking backroads around Dahlonega, GA.

Below is the proposed schedule:

08:00 – 09:15 – Breakfast at the IHOP, 4117 Dawson Forest Rd E, Dawsonville, Ga

09:15 – 09:30 – Tire kicking and drivers meeting with a 09:30 departure

09:30 – 12:00 – A run around Dahlonega, up HWY 60 to Dial Rd , Aska Rd and several others into to Blue Ridge. The extra 30 minutes is for a YTB determined bio break along the way!!!

12:00 – 13: 30 – Lunch at a TBD location. In the running- Rum Cake Lady Cuban Café, Misty Mountain Hops, Burra Burra on the River (McCaysville) , Toccoa River Restaurant or let me know your preference!!!!!

13:30 – Head for home on alternate ( shorter, quicker) route or the route of your choice
