Greetings to friends of Highlands Motoring Festival. After the very successful 2023 festival, we are pleased to announce the preliminary plans for 2024. More detailed information and registration will be available on our website starting in early January 2024. As in recent years, the selection of classic cars for Saturday’s “Cars in the Park” will be through an application process. Prior to the public notification, past participants will receive an email notice about when early registration will open for paid events and application for invitation to enter classic vehicles. For 2024, we will be featuring pre-war classics. We anticipate three groupings of these cars- pre-WWI brass era cars, pre-WWII European classics, and pre-WWII American classics. We are shooting for 20-24 of these classics which will join sixty to seventy other pre-1990 cars falling into our traditional classes. Mr. Bill Warner will be our 2024 Grand Marshall and celebrity guest. Bill is well known as the founder and long-term president of the Amelia Island Concours. He was our guest speaker at the “Free Wheeling” Soiree at the Bascom Center in 2021. The following year, Bill joined “Cannonball Jack” in a special program at HMF’s “Movie Night in the Park”. We are thrilled to have Bill join us again in 2024. Preliminary Schedule of Events Thursday June 6, 2024 “One Lap of the Mountains- Grande”- Driving Tour 8:30am-4:00pm Friday June 7, 2024 “One Lap of the Mountains- Speciale” Driving Tour 9:30am to 4pm Main Street Parade of Classic Cars 5:30pm to 6:30pm Saturday June 8, 2024 “Cars in the Park” Classic Car Show in the Kelsey-Hutchinson Park 9:30am to 4pm “Fundraising Gala” 6pm to 9pm Sunday June 9, 2024 “High Octane” Social and Car Gathering in Kelsey-Hutchinson Park. 8:30am to 11am. Spanning four days, the Highlands Motoring Festival is staged in Highlands, NC, during the second week of June. The festival’s centerpiece event is Saturday’s “Cars in the Park” event which draws thousands of spectators to view a curated exhibit of over eighty very special classic cars in the Kelsey Hutchinson Founders Park, right in downtown Highlands.
